What ever happened with National Airlines? I thought the casinos would have helped bail out a hometown airline that brought in big business as opposed to letting it fold.

I have heard that Atomic Liquors on East Fremont downtown has liquor license no 00001 and has been under the same ownership for 50 years, and that the movie Casino was filmed there, too. True?

In your answer to the question on 12/16/07, the one about whether Las Vegas should become the capital of Nevada, you set up (as you sometimes do) another question, so I’ll be the one to ask it. How was Carson City "indisputably destined" to become the capital of Nevada?

What was the story behind the Old Vegas amusement park in Henderson? When did it open and close? Also, what is on that site now? I understand that a small part of Viva Las Vegas and some "Gunsmoke" episodes were filmed there. Also, they had a small steam locomotive train and tracks set up there too. Just curious if you could provide any more info on this. Thanks.

Do you think Las Vegas should be the capital of Nevada? After all, that’s where the people are. That’s where the money is. And therefore, that’s where the power is. Shouldn’t the political power be concentrated where the population and economic power is?

Drug dealer Jimmy Chagra, who was said to have put a contract out on a federal judge in San Antonio, was eventually sent to prison after years of high rollin' in Vegas. I heard that he got out awhile back. What is his current status? Details, please.

There once was a hair salon in Las Vegas called "A Little Off The Top", I believe, that featured female haircutters wearing skimpy attire. Is it still around? If not, is anyone else trying to repeat the formula?

I just read an article in a poker magazine regarding an incident that took place at the 2006 WSOP Main Event. Apparently, during a "coloring-up" phase, a player was mistakenly given an extra $2,000,000 in chips! The Harrah's employee that made this mistake was terminated. However, the article does not say who the player was that received this "gift" and whether or not he or she finished in the money. Can you provide any further details?

In the Oct. 7th Q of Day you stated: "It won't be the first enigma hereabouts. Nevada, which has been called 'a vortex of the unexplained,' is home to a number of puzzlements that have occurred over the years." Is there a book or a Web site where I can read about other unexplained occurrences?
