OK, we just read about the merger between MGM and Mirage Resorts [in QoDs 11/25/16], but right after that, Harrah's bought Park Place Entertainment. Can we have a history update here, please?

Considering the apparent problems SLS continues to have establishing itself in the market, can we speculate that maybe tearing down the Stardust was a mistake? Outside of a smaller buffet size, what was really wrong with the old place? (Wayne Newton's act doesn't count.) Was it falling apart or just plain old? We never stayed there but did gamble there, a little.

What effect, if any, do you feel the outcome of the presidential election will have on the gambling industry in Nevada? Do you see the run up to the election as a good time or a bad time to invest in casino stock?

I was reading David McKee's column about the Moulin Rouge and how so many in the Las Vegas area love the idea of bringing it back but no one will commit the cash because the original is in a bad area. Why not pitch to Derek Stevens the idea of bringing back the Moulin Rouge at the Las Vegas Club downtown?

Reading your fantastic reports on recent crime statistics, I didn't see the DUI numbers listed. Considering Uber and Lyft have been here a year now serving both tourists and us locals off the strip, it would be awesome to see a year over year decline in drunk driving justifying the future of this convenient and affordable alternative to the taxi cartels ... I mean taxis.

An article in the business section of the R-J on Saturday, October 1, about the grand opening of the American headquarters of the Australian slot manufacturing company Ainsworth, called its founder Len Ainsworth "the father of video poker." I was under the impression that that title belonged to Si Redd of IGT. Please explain the discrepancy.
