I hate to see the old buildings of Vegas go under (especially when it's a "first" of something.) So when I was out the other night taking some shots of the White Cross while I still could, I was wondering if you guys knew anything more about the place, about its past, about what happened, about the future of the building and of Tiffany's? (I'd hate to see Tiffany's go as well...)

I have read in various Las Vegas history books about how the Mob would bury people in the desert. With all the expansion in the valley over the years, has a Mob buried body ever been unearthed during construction of houses? If so, what part of town was the Mob’s favorite burial ground?

Your QOD from May 4th briefly mentioned some history on the Bonanza Gift Shop. Can you give us the full history on the site and how the gift store came to be? The QOD archives does not have a lot of info on it.

"Hey, you didn't go back far enough on the black building with the pink awnings on Sahara & Las Vegas Blvd. In the '50s & '60s that was Foxy's Deli (I believe the first one in Vegas). It was very popular with great Corned Beef, Pastrami, Matzah Ball Soup, etc. It was a big deal at that time."

Friday, you told us about a full-scale U.S.S. Enterprise that was to have been built on Fremont Street, in 1992. What went wrong?

Further to your recent QoD about the -- to date -- failed plan to relocate the Star Trek Experience in downtown Las Vegas, I recently read something about how there was formerly a much more elaborate proposal for an Enterprise-themed attraction, but that the Fremont Street Experience won out. Any truth to that story and, if so, care to elaborate

I recently wrote you asking, "Where did the King Tut Museum go?" I found it at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum downtown! So, now I must ask, what else did they remove from Luxor in 2008 to de-theme it, besides the "excavation site" at the buffet? What remains there that's Egyptian-themed (besides the Sphinx)?

So, you recently wrote about how Rick Thomas and his magic tigers turned the lights out on the Sahara showroom. How about a list of all casino closings by name and date, giving info on who the final acts were?

With the scheduled demolition of the Orbit Inn in Las Vegas, I was wondering what happened with the explosion in 1967? Was the Mob behind it?

Regarding the 2-10-2012 QoD concering the Hilton sign: I recall reading many stories through the years where it is stated that virtually all Las Vegas casino signs are made by YESCO (Young Electric Sign COmpany), and their manufacturing contracts are written in such a way that YESCO is the permanent owner of the sign. I recall that the YESCO "salvage" yard is 10 times as large as what the Neon Museum has, and is several miles outside of town. Is there any truth to this?
