In a recent QoD you mentioned that the Thunderbird became the Silverbird became El Rancho II, then was imploded. What can you tell us about the Thunderbird that is just north of the Stratosphere, near Luv-It Frozen Custard? The last time I was in town (Nov) it was closed.

I am interested in knowing about the construction of the Guardian Angel Cathedral in Las Vegas. Someone stated that Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin underwrote part of its construction costs. I also understand Morris Barney Dalitz donated the land. Can you provide some additional information?

In 2003 we went to an afternoon show in the "igloo" outside of Lady Luck Casino. It was an awesome variety show called The Walkers. I believe it was a woman and her 2 or 3 brothers. Similar to the Scintas show. We met them after the show and were very surprised to learn that they were from our hometown of Butler, PA. In 2004 we returned to take friends to see this fun show and it was gone. We asked at the front desk, the concierge, and even the valets, and nobody had ever heard of them! We couldn't believe that not one employee remembered them or their great show. Do you know or could you find out what ever happed to The Walkers? Thank you in advance for researching our question. With all of the hysteria over the radiation coming to the West Coast from the Japanese nuclear power plant, I was wondering how the levels of radiation from the atomic blasts around Las Vegas in the 1950s compare to the levels of radiation coming from Japan?
