What is Palace Station doing? They are all torn up. Did I miss this in an earlier question?

It seems to me that as the gulf widens between the Strip ripoff casinos and the locals' joints in terms of price and value, the latter might be missing out in terms of not marketing to out-of-towners. A weekend at South Point, Orleans, Red Rock, etc. will provide a visitor with all the standard Vegas amenities and gambling opportunities, but costs several hundred dollars less than a stay on the Strip. So why aren't the locals' casinos trying to pull in the tourists?

I seem to recall that Carl Icahn was given a deadline of August or September to cover up his his Strip monstrosity [Fontainebleau] to make it less dreadful. The deadline has come and gone without any sign of anything happening. What gives?

You said [in the November 25 QoD] MGM only sold one of the former Mirage resorts [Treasure Island], but what about the Golden Nugget? I'm pretty sure that was included in the MGM sale and was sold within four or five years of the original transaction.

Concerning the QoD on December 8 [about casinos aimed specifically at a Latino market]. My wife and I make the drive from Fresno to Las Vegas twice a year and we like to go through Death Valley. We often pass by a big sign for El SueƱo, in Beatty, Nevada, and wonder about it. It appears to be an abandoned casino project. Was that aimed at Hispanics?

Parking Part 4: First 6-5 blackjack, then resort fees and comped-drink tracking, and now paid parking. What's next? Admission fees for the casinos?

Parking Part 3: Does The Las Vegas Advisor have plans to start charging to park when coming to your office to get the yearly coupon book? Seems like everyone else does!

OK, we just read about the merger between MGM and Mirage Resorts [in QoDs 11/25/16], but right after that, Harrah's bought Park Place Entertainment. Can we have a history update here, please?
