This is a follow-up question for Fezzik about last-week’s comment on the new owners of sports books. The day after the question ran, I went to the Venetian (a Cantor book) to bet BYU against Utah about 30 minutes before kick-off. They told me the game was off the board and they weren’t taking bets. No further explanation. I went across the street to Caesars and made the bet there. The writer at Caesars said once a game is up on the board there it doesn't come down. What happened at the Venetian and can we expect more of this from these new operators?

What is Fezzik's take on the entrance of William Hill into the market in Las Vegas? Will the two big dogs, Hill and Cantor, compete and create more opportunities? Will they monopolize the market and suppress competition? Or are there enough other books that things won't change that much? In a nutshell, was it a better atmosphere for bettors last year or today?

Did Ilario Pesco, General Mgr. at Bally's Steak House and Sterling Brunch, really retire last month? After 40+ years at all the MGM (now Bally's) famed Restaurants: Seasons, Gigi's, Steakhouse, Al dente, just to name a few, -- the ambiance is not the same without him greeting you at the door in his tux.

A lot of your readers probably don't remenber the Stardust, but it had an act that starred Bobby Berosini and 3 orangutans and 2 chimpanzees. After the Stardust closed, what happened to the act?

Why was Steve Wynn in such a rush to remove the Frontier sign that he paid to have it taken down? I understand the area that maintains all or some of the old signs weren't advised and by the time they got there only one letter was left.

I drove past a motel sign on the center divider of Las Vegas Blvd. near El Cortez. I think it said "Elvis slept here." Was that motel anything special and did Elvis really sleep there? I wish I had caught the motel name but I was driving and apparently I'm not good with multi-tasking :-(
