What is up with Metro parking stripped-down cop cars up and down the Strip? If it is to appear as there is more law presence on the Strip it is not working. People are using them for trash bins, ashtrays and places to sit. The electronics are out, the antennae are off. They look like they are getting them ready to auction them off.

Are there any resources/sites/blogs regarding living in Las Vegas? I’m moving there in less than a month!

Any idea what happened to the large stained-glass decoration that was part of Barbary Coast and then Bill’s Gambling Hall, but was disassembled for the Cromwell renovation? It was one of the last bits of vintage Las Vegas at the corner of Flamingo and the Strip.

My friends and I are seniors and only play nine holes of golf. Which of the local courses can we play?

When I used to come to Vegas with my family in the 1950s. I remember how strict it was that children under 21 years were not allowed in the casino area. There were uniformed guards at all entrances, ready to tell you to leave. Today there is very little evidence of security. I see small children in the casino areas all the time. What gives?

The early history of Circus Circus seems to be hard to access for me. Did they really have a slide as the entry and an admission fee?

Three hotel-casinos I visited recently, Aria, Mandarin Oriental and Vdara, have a very distinctive interior fragrance that makes me remember each hotel separately. What are the reasons for why hotels have fragrances now? Is this done on purpose? And what is the name of the fragrance from each of these hotels? Can guest have them at home, too?

When I went to the casino in Tampa, I was told that they could not comp drinks at the bar like in Las Vegas because they were not an Indian casino even though I was playing video poker at the bar. Are the Seminoles the owners of the casino? What are the restrictions to comp drinks? This was the same reason given to me at the Oxford Casino in Maine. They comp drinks in Connecticut at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. What are the reasons for not comping the drinks?
