After a recent successful craps table outing on the Strip I cashed in several large denomination "checks"- often erroneously referred to as "chips." I was wondering how many counterfeiters attempt to defraud the casinos and how many are successful. The checks themselves must be costly to manufacture. Can you tell me more about casino checks?

Casino Royale has a large portion of the casino floor walled off and under construction. Table games have been moved to the back. What are the remodel plans?

I was saddened to hear of David Bowie's death. The news got me thinking: Did he ever play Las Vegas? I know the Stones and other rock legends of that era have played Sin City on more than one occasion, but I don't recall ever hearing of a Bowie concert. If he did, when and where was that? I’m familiar with the history of slot machines, which I’ve seen covered in various places over the years (including QoD!). But I’ve never seen anything about the origins of video poker machines. Can you give us a thumbnail history of VP?

Now that the Tropicana has been sold, where does that leave the proposed mall addition and what’s happening with the glass ceiling in the casino that they were going to remove? Also, do you think the effect of the sale will make the Trop more like M Resort, or the other way around? (e.g., Will M reintroduce a resort fee or might the Tropicana follow M’s lead and ditch theirs? We can only hope!) I know the two properties now share a shuttle, but what other changes/integration might we expect?
