Has there ever been a hotel in Vegas that has had or entertained the thought of having a retractable roof for pool/spa use in the winter months?

My game is pai gow poker. I’m curious about its history and have tried looking it up, but never got too far. I figured if anyone had the inside dope on it, it’d be Question of the Day.

Whenever I visit Vegas I tend to be a night owl, but on my most recent trip I had difficulty finding open late-night food options, other than a few of the fast food chains. Since I have another trip upcoming soon, would it be possible for you to provide some late-night dining options where I could actually sit down and get a meal at, say, 2 or 3 a.m.? It's Vegas for Pete's sake, what happened to it being a 24/7/365 town?!

Your QoD from Dec. 28, 2015 indicated that the new tower at the Silverton was going to be an all-suite addition to the hotel. We had an opportunity last night to stay at the hotel. During check in we asked the hotel clerk when the new hotel tower was set to open. She said, "Oh, no, the addition is a timeshare tower" -- not part of the hotel. Who has the real scoop?

In Biloxi, there is construction activity next door to the Golden Nugget at the old Casino Magic site. Do you know what is going on with this site?

Last year Nellis A.F.B. opened its roads for taxi and bus traffic going to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the NASCAR races. I heard that this year only buses will be allowed to cut through the base and not taxi cabs. Is there any truth to this and why?

In the movie Leaving Las Vegas the character Ben stayed at a low rent motel called the Whole Year Inn, which he saw/interpreted as the 'Hole You're In'. Where was the real-life filming location of that motel? Also where was the condo complex Sera lived in?
