Are there any original sections left at any of the oldest remaining strip resorts -- Flamingo, SLS/Sahara or the Tropicana?

In a recent post on David McKee's blog, he mentions a quote from Deutsche Bank analyst Karen Tang: "If Macau tightens junket regulations, we feel that more small junkets will go out of business after Chinese New Year, and even bigger junkets may face redemption pressures." What are "junkets" and how does their business tie in to casinos in Macau?

After reading the recent QoD about the "Old Vegas" theme park in Henderson, I wondered what happened to the Vegas Strip reproduction they built for the Vegas TV show with Dennis Quaid a few years ago? I thought it was built out in California somewhere? How bizarre would that be to come across unexpectedly while driving around California!

I have heard that Planet Hollywood will be updating all of the hotel rooms in the hotel. Is this true? If so, how long will it take for them to be completed?

I will be in Las Vegas with my sister on February 3 and was wondering if the public is allowed into the memorial service for Celine's husband. Any specifics on time, admittance, etc., would be appreciated.

I saw on Twitter that the Mirage now has its own beer, Mirage IPA. Do you know who brews it for them? Has anyone at LVA sampled it? I am interested in your impression.

I recently visited Fremont Street and saw the new "performance circles" for the buskers. They look like giant poker chips, spread out across the pedestrian walkway. They definitely make Fremont less chaotic and more organized, which to me is both good and bad. It seems safer, but also that some of the fun has been lost. Has there been any response to the new system?

Are the hallway areas leading to the guest rooms people stay in under taped video surveillance in hotels like the Tropicana? How about the public elevators? (Double checking my info for book I’m ready to publish on Las Vegas. Thanks.)

After a recent successful craps table outing on the Strip I cashed in several large denomination "checks"- often erroneously referred to as "chips." I was wondering how many counterfeiters attempt to defraud the casinos and how many are successful. The checks themselves must be costly to manufacture. Can you tell me more about casino checks?

To complement yesterday's Reader Poll results, regarding what new things you were most looking forward to for Las Vegas in 2016 (which didn't amount to much!), here are the results of the previous reader survey that we ran at the end of last year, regarding your biggest disappointments of 2015.
