My wife and I will be in town next month. We are amateur astronomers: Can you recommend how far and in which direction might be best to escape the Vegas lights and do some stargazing?

I see I'm going to be in town during the Rock 'N' Roll Marathon. What information and advice can you provide about street closures and how to get around on the Strip during that period?

If I wanted to earn 2500 tier credits on my Caesars Total Rewards Card would it be quicker for me to play $50 per hand of blackjack or play a dollar slot machine betting $3 per spin? Also, based on expected loss rates, which would be the less expensive of the two routes?

When did Las Vegas casinos discontinue the tradition of midnight shows from headline or lounge entertainers? If you look at old advertisements, Elvis, Wayne Newton, Louis Prima, Frank Sinatra, etc., all did dinnertime shows, followed by midnight performances. Sometimes, even 2 a.m. shows were scheduled! Did entertainers dislike the late hours? Or did people decide they’d rather go to bed? (I can’t believe that!)

Do you know how long casinos keep the continuous recordings of everything that happens and everyone that enters a casino? I assume they no longer use video tapes and I also assume digital recordings could be kept forever.

Regarding traffic accidents, if I am in one would I have to investigate it myself and follow up with it, or do the police come out and handle the crash report?

I’m staying at Bally's and overlooking Paris, Bellagio, Caesars and Rio. I notice NOT one U.S. flag on any of these properties. What's up with that?

I have read some disturbing comments on the Internet about bed bugs being reported at some of the hotels. We usually visit Las Vegas every year but now we are very apprehensive, I do not want to name the specific casino/hotels, but the comments were on Yelp, and they were dated just about the same time we usually visit. Is this a serious problem and what exactly do the hotels do to remedy this disgusting problem? We are having severe concerns about returning to LV, has the LVA done any inquiring about this issue?

So many people loved the Stardust casino, including myself. Why doesn't the name’s owner make an effort to revive it? (e.g., at SLS, which unfortunately isn't working out, I guess mostly because of location.)

There used to be a statute of Benny Binion somewhere behind Binion's (possibly corner of Odgen and Casino Center). Is this the statue that is now at South Point? If yes, what transpired to move it and if not what happened to it? Also, where is Benny Binion buried?
