Las Vegas resort-casino opening attractions and their fate: Part II

I was just in Vegas, walking through the front entrance to Excalibur, and had a vague memory of a show in the moat out there. It seems like most modern hotel/casinos opened with some sort of a free show or attraction. The pirate show at TI, Bellagio Fountains, Mirage Volcano, Lions at MGM, etc. I was wondering if you could put together a rundown of all the current properties, what attraction (if any) they opened with, and how many of those attractions still operate.

I see that the demolition of the Harmon Hotel is proceeding. I know there were a number of lawsuits between the developers and the builders. Are they at an end, or are any still in contention? Also what, if anything, happened to those county inspectors who approved the continued construction of this fiasco? In sum what was the end result for each of the parties?

There is a hill west of 215, south of Charleston Boulevard, and east-northeast of the Red Rock campground and Bureau of Land Management fire station. I rarely see it named on any maps, but some places call it Summerlin Hill (not to be confused with Summerlin Peak). If you stand on top of the west parking garage at Red Rock Resort and look west, it’s the first significant geographic feature you see. Does it have an official name? I see some signs of some sort of industrial plant. What is it? There is excellent hiking (as well as mountain biking and horseback riding) at Blue Diamond Hill nearby. Is hiking allowed on this hill? Who is the owner of this hill? Any interesting historical details?

Since the big fanfare when it opened, I have not heard anything about the Elvis Exhibit at the Westgate. How is it doing?

What's the status of the IRS initiative to force casinos to issue W-2Gs for $600+ slot jackpots instead of $1,200+ (as they do now)? Is there anything we as players can do to voice our displeasure and help prevent this from happening?

Someone told me Caesars no longer pays a million for a diamond 6-card royal flush on their table games. Is that true, also do you know how many people in Vegas won the million?

Just returned from Vegas (4/29), and wondering if anyone is monitoring the costumes/outfits of Fremont Street participants? While most are entertaining, some seem uncomfortably bizarre ... especially with young families enjoying the activities.

James Bond is a famous gambler and we almost always know what game he's playing. But in the 1974 movie, The Man With The Golden Gun, bond is playing in a Macao casino. He is sitting at a large table -- sort of like a craps table -- and people make bets and then other people, sitting up above out of sight, lower a little basket on a string and the people playing either put money in the basket or take money out. The little basket then goes back up and they play again. Any idea what game they were playing? It looked very festive and had many players -- 10 sitting downstairs, another 8-10 sitting upstairs. Thank you very much.

Here’s one that I can't get the answer to, not even from the casinos. Comp points are lower for video poker than for slots, but what if you play the other games in the video machines? Video blackjack is available in most of the multi-game machines. How would that be comped, as a slot machine or as a video poker machine? Good luck getting an answer, I’ve tried.
