Did Main Street Station, formerly I think the Park Hotel, ever close after it opened as Main Street Station? My wife said yes. I didn't think so but she's usually right. I was recently at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas and was denied access to the outdoor blackjack tables. The security guard said unless we were staying in the hotel, we would have to pay the cover charge. We left without paying. I keep hearing that they cannot make you pay if you want to gamble - true?

I regularly watch Brain Games on cable TV. It appears that it is filmed in Las Vegas. Any information you have about its filming would be appreciated.

Friday, July 17, around 4 p.m., there was a massive fire on the Interstate 15 that forced it to be shut down on both sides for a long period of time. As you know, the I-15 is the only real way to get to/from SoCal to Las Vegas. My guess is those wanting to go to Vegas from SoCal never made it - turning around and going home instead. How much did this fire cost Las Vegas as far as lost revenue for hotels and gambling? Being a "nothing" weekend in July probably minimized the damage. If this had been something like New Year’s Eve weekend or a weekend once college/pro football was underway how much more would the lost revenue have been?

As the World Series of Poker is in full swing at the Rio, I wonder what ever happened to all the talk of moving it to Caesars? Seems like the new CEO of Caesars would love the publicity the event brings to be focused on their premier property.

I was in Las Vegas during the flash flood on July 6th. Does any of that water make it to Lake Mead and does it have any impact of the drought?

I keep getting ads for "the world’s largest Hooters" coming to the Palms. Is the Hooters casino going to close? And since I have heard that the Hooters casino on Tropicana isn't making all that much money why open another one. Given the reason that I heard that the Hooters casino wasn't really a draw was that many cocktail waitresses wear skimpier outfits than Hooter Girls anyway. Doesn't seem like a good business decision.

I understand that Jackie Gaughan lived in a penthouse at the El Cortez until his death. My question is, will Gaughan's penthouse be made available to the public as a hotel suite to rent out? It would be cool to stay in the same suite where the great man actually lived!

Interesting question concerning America's Got Talent and who did good. How about winners of American Idol. I know Carrie Underwood has done outstanding but to my knowledge not in Vegas. Taylor Hicks had a show for a time. Any others?
