I just had a wonderful trip to Vegas and I noticed the neon writing on the top side of "The Mirage" hotel and the writing on the top side of the "Wynn" appear to be penned by the same hand. Is that correct and if so, do you know who's handwriting the neon signs were modeled after? Thanks!

I was out in Vegas one and a half years ago. The north end of the Strip seemed dark, empty and dangerous. The big fence between the Riviera and Slots-A-Fun was new and the Riviera looked dark or closed. There were police everywhere. What is it like now? Is it safe?

Daniel Negreanu and Jack McClelland are being inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in a ceremony being held at Binion’s at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 9, a day before the final table of the WSOP Main Event takes place at Rio. The festivities will take place in the Longhorn Room. I’m arriving in Las Vegas that day and I would like to attend that ceremony. From what I can find, the Longhorn Room has a capacity of about 400 people. Is a ticket purchase required to watch the ceremony? If so, where to buy? Regardless, do I have a shot at getting in as just an interested recreational poker player?

I just returned from seeing The Beatles LOVE at The Mirage. I have seen this show more than five times over the years. We recognized some of the performers but many appear new. Do they have back-up performers to fill in for sickness and holidays? What is the turnover rate on the show?

I've learned to disregard the customary Bugsy Siegel mythology, as it pertains to the Las Vegas Strip and the Flamingo. We all know that Siegel didn’t really create Las Vegas, and that the Flamingo was not the first casino on U.S. 91. In fact, some sources maintain that Siegel came to the Flamingo project late, after Billy Wilkerson had broken ground and was seeking help with funding and access to building materials. I have even read versions of the story that give Wilkerson credit for naming the property. But in a book I’m currently reading (When the Mob Ran Vegas), the author maintains that Siegel was on board from the beginning, and was even responsible for securing the land from Margaret Folsom via Moe Sedway. Now I don’t know what to believe concerning the origins of the Flamingo. Can you help separate fact from legend?
