I saw in today's news that Clark County's population surpassed 2 million. But what about the the city? How many people live in the entire metropolitan area including North Las Vegas, Summerlin and Henderson?

You ceaselessly – and incorrectly – refer to the "Las Vegas Valley." Here’s a geology/geography lesson: A valley is an elongated depression in the earth’s surface carved out over a protracted period of time by the moving water of a river. No, the Colorado River doesn’t qualify because it’s too distant. The Las Vegas metropolitan area is situated not in a valley but in a "bowl" or "basin," surrounded by mountains on all sides. Look up at the horizon and check it out.

I have a question not specifically about Las Vegas but it does includes Clark County, cattle and possibly the energy needs of Las Vegas sometime into the future. So in a roundabout way it could indeed involve Las Vegas. Intrigued yet? I have not seen any coverage of this from the mainstream media but can you possibly explain the situation that is going on at the Bundy Ranch which involves the BLM, Senator Harry Reid and his son Rory and a Chinese energy company’s solar plant and how the Bundy Ranch fits into all of this?

I know that in Nevada and presume that in other states, slot machines are regulated to minimum payouts over time. Are casinos on cruise lines under any regulation? And what about those that are associated with Nevada gaming conglomerates? I believe that Caesars Entertainment is associated with a cruise line. Do they "self-impose" betters odds for casino players on those cruise lines that have a land-based connection?

Your question of the day from April 5, 2014 led me to ask this question on pool access for non-hotel guests or specifically for locals. Which hotel pools are open to the public, or locals, at no charge and which ones have just a modest charge similar to the $10 mentioned at Bally's?

About when did the first resort fees arrive in Las Vegas and about how much do they add to the total income per day, week or month now? Are there any records to show year-by-year progression?

In Feb. 2014 my sister and I went to the Gold Coast to take advantage of the 50+ "Mystery Multiplier." The swipe for both my sister and myself revealed a 7x multiplier. Isn't this the multiplier that used to be standard on "Senior Days"? I couldn't help thinking that most people probably got the same multiplier and that anything higher was an extremely rare occurrence - especially since my sister and I got the exact same multiplier. Have you had any feedback from others regarding their experience on Senior Day and the Mystery Multiplier? Also, from the Gold Coast we went to The Orleans to take advantage of the same offer. After swiping our card to no avail, I went to the slot club and was told that you could earn the points 7 a.m.-7 p.m., as advertised, but you had to actually swipe your card by 4:30 p.m. to be able to take advantage of the offer and get a Mystery Multiplier. Do you know if that is in writing anywhere? I couldn't find it anywhere and it seems like less-than-truthful advertising. Thank you.

I'm curious about the paper change on the Las Vegas Advisor. It feels like a photocopy. I thought it was going to smudge, but it didn’t.
