We are handicapped. May a person from another state bring their handicap sticker with them and use it on a rental car?

Your QOD regarding past casinos raised a few memories and a couple of questions in my mind. First, I recall a terrific breakfast at the Silver Slipper which I believe would have sat on the lot between the New Frontier and the Stardust, and one of your pictures included Silver City. How many other strip casinos disappeared that were not on the sites of current casinos? Thanks for another thought-provoking QOD.

It seems like there's always a discussion somewhere that goes something like "Why can't a hotel with 2,000 rooms guarantee a simple request?" So, recently I Googled around a bit and learned that on average Las Vegas hotels ran at about 87.1% capacity in 2013. To me that means a 2,000 room hotel would have something like 258 rooms "available" on any given day. That sounds like a decent number, but how many are typically reserved by casino marketing, are unavailable due to damage, are undesirable for some reason, etc.? The more I thought about it the more it seemed that even with 2,000 rooms 87% occupancy has got to be pretty close to the practical maximum. Am I right or way off?

I read on a travel-review site that Palms Place has decided to unlock access to the room balconies. Is this true?

Standing in front of the Bellagio at night with the Eiffel tower at my back while watching the beautiful fountains dance to the music is a favorite must-do for me on every trip to Vegas. My question pertains to a bet I made at Binion's a couple of months ago. I placed a $100 futures "win" bet on Shared Belief in the Kentucky Derby at 8-1 odds. In the interim, I’ve learned that the horse will not run and I wonder about the status of my ticket. I know that if an event like a baseball game is canceled, all bets are returned. But what if a participant (in this case a horse) does not take part? Can I get my money back or am I just stuck?

I am interested in purchasing a timeshare in Las Vegas. Most of the major companies are now going to a "point system"; I would just like to reserve the same week(s) every year (the "traditional way"). Are there still such units available? (I don’t like the point systems since the value of the points can be changed by the company; you are at their mercy when they decide to change the rules!)
