We were at the grand opening of Jokers Wild, but it seemed to close just as quickly. What happened? We heard there were under the table deals that delayed it. Now it's part of Boyd, but I think it went through other owners. How did Boyd get it and what price did they have to pay to get it?

I understand that Lorena Peril has recently left from her lead role in Fantasy at the Luxor. Do they have a permanent replacement for her yet? Knowing that name recognition sells tickets, are they going to try to bring in someone like when they had Angelica Bridges as the headliner, or similar to the strategy followed with Peepshow?

What stood on the plot of ground prior to Fashion Show Mall? I know FSM was built in 1981 but have absolutely no recollection what stood there previously.

Las Vegas boasts a history that few cities can match and I have bought every book that Huntington Press offers on the subject. Unfortunately, I do not believe the town itself values its unique past, as scant little exists that focuses upon it. The Sahara had a wonderful collection of pictures on the way to its buffet and the Riviera has a plaque that lists all the performers that have appeared there. The Tropicana had a great museum of Vegas history but alas, that itself is also "history". We will be in Las Vegas soon for a long-awaited vacation and will see the Mob and Neon Museums, but are there any other attractions that focus on Las Vegas history? Does UNLV offer a class on local history as part of any degree program and if so, what might the textbook(s) be? Thanks

We hear so much a about these cool "day club" pools. Are there any pools that more or less cater to the "Over-30" crowd? Looking for a spot that's a lot of fun, but where we won't feel like creepy old people?

With more and more hotels jumping on the "resort fee" bandwagon, can you please list what those fees cover for all the hotels that charge them? Thanks.

Today we'll tackle two related questions in one: "On the recent Las Vegas "Bar Rescue" show, they 'rescued' Gypsy, the first gay bar to ever open in Las Vegas. At the end of the show, I see where the owner did not like the change and three days later closed the bar. Who pay for all the renovation costs and what happens when some owner decides he knows more than expert Jon Taffer and either changes the bar back or, in this case, closes the doors forever?" and: "Just curious: Did Bar 702 keep its great video poker pay tables after it was reborn from the old Sand Dollar (thanks to the show "Bar Rescue")?

When considering a Vegas trip I'm usually pretty flexible on dates to get good room deals. Is there some easy way to research time periods when the whole town is going to be heavily booked and room deals nonexistent, due to major conventions or events?

With the recent commercial success of Imagine Dragons and The Killers (both Las Vegas bands who cut their teeth playing in town), how can a music-lover stay abreast of other bands playing around town who may be good enough to make it to the big time? (How awesome is would have been to see either of these bands before they got so popular...)
