My son has asked to celebrate his 21st birthday in Las Vegas, and, as a frequent visitor, I thought it might make for an entertaining father-son trip. Looking at the calendar while planning the trip, I was struck by an interesting question: Will he legally be 21 at midnight in our time zone back on the east coast (9 p.m. local time), or will we have to wait until midnight local Las Vegas time, 3 hours later?

I just returned from a trip to the "new" LVH (formerly the Las Vegas Hilton). Has the LVH published their notice to change their casino chips to reflect the name change yet?

Some years back, I remember a cocktail waitress at the MGM in Reno (now the Grand Sierra Resort) refusing to serve beer to a couple of guys. She explained to them that it's 18 to gamble, but 21 to drink. Does my memory serve me well? If so, when did the age to gamble change? Thanks in advance.

Is there a way to get a list of the prop bets available for the Super Bowl? Do all casinos offer the same ones?

In my 26 years of going to Las Vegas, I've never been there during a Super Bowl. I will finally make one this year. One of my gambling buddies, who claims to have made 22 Super Bowl games in Vegas, told me there's a need for sports book reservations on that day. We've been pranking each other for a while, but still, I don't want to miss out. Is he, as I suspect, full of it? Either way, I'm looking forward to this trip.

I was playing late at the Riviera and the only eatery open was the Queen Victoria Pub. The top item on the dessert menu was "Albert’s Spotted Dick!!!" (exclamation points included on the menu). I don’t know if you’ve written about this in the QOD, but to many Americans this sounds like an uncomfortable medical problem rather than something to eat.

Has there ever been a fort on or near Ft. Apache Rd. in southwest Las Vegas? If so, what is the history of it and the area? Thanks for a reply at your convenience and keep up the great information.

I read that the Golden Gate has closed their deli to accommodate their expansion. While they are still serving the shrimp cocktail in their Du-par's restaurant 24/7, the price has been quietly raised to $2.99. My wife and I loved going downtown for this Top Ten deal. What have you heard?

Every year we go to Vegas (we stay downtown), we notice more and more emphasis on Hawaiian themes, Hawaiian food offerings, and info that caters to Hawaiian guests. When and how did that trend begin? We like it!

Anyone who has driven around the Las Vegas Valley or been a LVA subscriber for any length of time is probably at least aware of Lee’s Discount Liquor stores. This chain has been a frequent "Best of Las Vegas" winner and seems to be involved in a number of charitable events. Can you tell me a little more about the owner, Mr. Hae Un Lee, and his business interests, which I understand include Woonam Jung, a Korean restaurant located on Spring Mountain Road?
