Looking at the calendar while planning the trip, I was struck by an interesting question: Will he legally be 21 at midnight in our time zone back on the east coast (9 p.m. local time), or will we have to wait until midnight local Las Vegas time, 3 hours later?

I was playing late at the Riviera and the only eatery open was the Queen Victoria Pub. The top item on the dessert menu was "Albert’s Spotted Dick!!!" (exclamation points included on the menu).
