You noted in the May Las Vegas Advisor that the World Series of Poker will have some $550 tournaments available this year. On their web site, however, other then the Casino Employee $500 event, the lowest priced entry I found was $1,000. Can you elaborate on the $550 deal?

How often do the big casinos change their carpeting?

There are lots of beautiful swimming pools at the casinos in Las Vegas, but can you tell us if any have pools that are open for use by locals? Also, are there changing facilities and/or towels available and are there any charges for using the facilities?

My husband and I were driving along on US 50 through central Nevada last week, minding our own business, when we passed a tree out in the middle of nowhere that was filled with pairs of shoes! In your 4-26-10 QOD...you made the claim, "As for roller coasters, the Canyon Blaster in the Adventuredome at Circus Circus is the largest indoor roller coaster in the world." I have seen it and I can't believe it's larger than the Rock-n-Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios (Disney World) or even Space Mountain for that matter. What would be the track length of the three?

In February we were in Las Vegas and took a bus trip to Laughlin. Our bus driver/tour guide told us that the City of Las Vegas does not get its major supply of water from Lake Mead, but it gets it from an underground river which flows under the City. He also said that the reason Bally's Hotel and Casino is set back from the Street is because, otherwise, it would be sitting on top of the River. Is he correct?
