My wife and I greatly miss Siegfried and Roy. We attended their shows for decades, starting at the Frontier in the '80s, and we saw them many times at the Mirage. We were always amazed at how fresh the show seemed each time, with new animals and an intensity like they were performing for the first time. But who are Siegfried and Roy? Is there any information on their backgrounds and early experiences?

From time to time in the LVA, you use the word "metaresort" when describing the big new projects like CityCenter and Echelon Place. There's no such word in the dictionary and when I looked it up online, all I found were articles by Anthony Curtis that contained the word. Since it seems like you guys are the only ones using it, can you tell me exactly what it means?

What's up with all the earthquakes out there? I live in New Hampshire, and if rockin' and rollin' in Nevada makes the news way up here, there must be something serious happening.

I just finished reading the latest bestseller by Lee Child, Bad Luck and Trouble. This book has a few chapters set in Las Vegas. In these chapters, the main characters are walking up the low end of the Strip where several of the older properties have been torn down to make way for new construction (so far so good). But then the author states several times they're in the area where the Riviera used to be. I just got back from Vegas and I know the Riveria is still there. So this was obviously a researching error. I was wondering if these types of "errors" come to light in any way and do any formal retractions/apologies ever take place when the facts are incorrect.

In the last installment of your Las Vegas history series, you mentioned the 25 largest hotels, of which only nine were there before the Mirage. Can you list them for us, please? Thank you.
