The Question of the Day about Old Vegas brought back memories of another attraction in the area. What is the story of Las Vegas Down racetrack? I remember that it was closed down the first time I visited Las Vegas in 1984. I also remember advertisements in greyhound racing magazines announcing the re-opening in 1991. Whatever happened?

Several years ago a contest was held in Las Vegas and the winner received a house that was a replica of the Simpsons' home. What became of that house? I've never seen it listed as a tourist attraction.

On New Year's Eve 2007, a friend told me that people were turned away from casinos on the Strip, unless they had a room key or player's club card to the casino. Is that true, and, if so, why?
