If I wanted to have a bankroll of $3,000-$5,000 for gambling, but didn't want to travel with the cash, what is the least costly option to get money? Will the casino cages cash a large check? Wiring ahead could cost $20 or more. ATM withdrawals usually have daily limits. And I'm visiting in April and I hate carrying a lot of cash. Can I deposit a few thousand with a casino host where I'm staying and gamble off that and withdraw some money when I need it? Also can I just transfer from my bank to the casino and use them like a bank? I'm a new visitor and wondering how something like this works or am I stuck using the ATMs and their exorbitant fees.

I have seen results from a $25,000 buy-in tournament on the strip which runs every couple of weeks with 18 to 36 entered. Since the IRS makes sure I have a W2-G for every payout of $1,200+ are the poker rooms bound by reporting requirements on these and other large cash games?

OK, so the governor signed into law upping the room tax at local hotels, supposedly to help pay for a new stadium to house the "Las Vegas" Raiders. I realize that increase won't cost visitors much more dough, but my question has to do with the timing of the imposition of that increase. When does it go into effect? Does the NFL have to approve the move of the franchise from Oakland to LV, or will visitors pay the increase regardless of that approval? I'm very skeptical that the NFL will approve the move, and I suspect that the extra money will simply end up being used for something else.

What is your take/interest in the Raiders relocating to Las Vegas? My take is I go to Vegas to eat-drink-gamble and have no time for live sports. Granted, I live in the Bay Area and can watch them anytime, and I really don’t wish to pay any higher hotel tax to cover the stadium cost.

You recently wrote that property taxes are being paid on the stagnant Fountainebleu. Since Carl Icahn purchased the property in 2010 and he's trying to sell it, how much has he paid so far in property taxes?

What ever happened regarding the federal proposal that winnings be reported to the IRS (and that W-2Gs be given to the gambler) for changes to the amount won from slots and keno? I realize that the threshold hadn't been increased since 1977, and I'm sure that both gamblers and casinos were incensed at the proposal. If something new has been implemented, what is it?
