How safe is riding the bus on the Strip and downtown?

We are handicapped. May a person from another state bring their handicap sticker with them and use it on a rental car?

I was looking at the revenue from the Consolidated Facility Charge (CFC) at McCarran Airport and the number did not make sense to me. For fiscal year 2013 (July 1, 2012-June 30, 2013), the CFC brought in $36,166,000. At $3.75 per day, that is 9,644,267 rental car days. If an average rental is five days (probably less) that is 1,928,853 car rentals. With 11 companies in the Rent-A-Car center and 365 days per year, that works out to 480 rentals each day at each rental car company or 20 rentals per hour per company. That just does not sound right. Any insight into the CFC totals? Also, is there any reason why we still have to pay that when the original purpose of the fee was to finance the building and facilities? That has to be paid off by now.

How many taxicabs are there in Las Vegas?

At times in your "Today’s News" section of your website you report various traffic accidents and road closures. It got me to wonder, since Vegas is a huge travel city, are there any figures on who are involved in the traffic accidents around Vegas or state-wide, in terms of what proportion involves locals and what involves non-Nevada residents? Because there are so many tourists, with their possible lack of knowledge of the roads in the area, it seems that the percentage would involve more non-Nevada residents than locals. Is that the case? I like your QoD the most, but your Today’s News is quite interesting and informational, too.

I'm headed to Las Vegas in June. Taking lots of cash and traveler's checks has always made me nervous, especially going through security at O'Hare and McCarron's airports. Here's my question: Is there a standard practice that security check-in uses at airports for people who want to hold on to their cash and traveler's checks? I don't want to be physically separated from my money but also don't want to be considered a security risk/cash-smuggling criminal by tucking away the money on my person when going through security checkpoints. I know this was addressed a while back but could not find it in the archives. Can the remains, i.e., cremated ashes, be spread in Vegas? How about bringing them on the plane? Has anything changed since your last report? Thanks!

I was wondering if there are any hints you could provide about how to handle cabbies in Las Vegas? How do you know that they are taking the quickest route for that time of day? I was told that if you informed the driver to take the "direct" route he/she had to get you to your destination in the shortest possible time, allowing for traffic. Is there any truth to that?
