This may seem like an odd question, but I assure you it is for real. I am a walker. I love to walk long distances in any kind of weather. So, is there a way to walk from McCarran Airport to the Strip? Are there sidewalks? Is it safe? Ten miles is nothing to me, even in extreme weather.

My friends and I are flying out to Sin City in a month and need you to settle a small bet we have: I say it is against the law to have open alcohol containers in the vehicle and in public places such as on the Strip and downtown; my friends all say you can have open containers anywhere within city limits, even inside of a moving vehicle! Whenever I visit Vegas, I rent a car but it still ends up taking me a long time to get from point A to point B. And my feet hurt at the end of the trip from all the walking I do. Any tips?

Who is responsible for the upkeep of the escalators to and from the pedestrian bridges along the Strip? Is it the casinos' responsibility? The one at the Tropicana always seems to be broken or roped off, slowing me down and making it harder to dodge those people trying to sell timeshares.

I'm intrigued by a recent QofD that involved an Amtrak (Chicago) to Kingman, Ariz., trip and then on to Laughlin and Vegas by bus. Sounds like a lot of fun. Any idea how much it would cost and how long it would take? The airline fares are killing us folks these days!

We recently stayed at the Grand Desert Wyndham. We had a view of the airport. There was a HUGE plane that said "Virgin" on it. It came in in the morning and went out around 5:30 (p.m.). Could you tell us if it was a passenger plane and how many passengers it holds?
