Why were the railroad cars removed from Main Street Station? There seem to be more and more landmarks and business establishments disappearing from downtown. I believe they had something to do with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. Any info would be helpful. Also, the contents of these cars — will they be sold or put up for auction? You mentioned a scrapping company in Ely, Nevada. Could the train cars be going to the Northern Nevada Railway Museum?

My question concerns the toiletries you find in the bathroom of your hotel in Las Vegas when you check in and first enter your room. Is there a health regulation that requires furnishing fresh unopened products for a new customer? If so, when a customer departs his room and the hotel, what happens to partially used bars of soap and opened containers of lotion and/or shampoo as well as possibly half a box of tissues. Does the hotel expect the customer to take left-over soap and possibly tissues as "freebies?" Perhaps the hotel builds into the room rate an unseen amount to cover disappearing disposables? Do hotels lose a lot of money annually by having to maintain fresh unopened toiletries?

Perhaps you have answered the following question before, but if so I missed the answer. Years ago in the back of the Imperial Palace, there was a classic car collection, with many of the cars having sticker prices in the event you wanted to purchase one. What happened to that collection or can it still be viewed somewhere?

I recently took the tour of Wayne Newton's Casa de Shenandoah, which I enjoyed very much. While in the visitor center across the street, waiting for the shuttle, I sat in a booth that I believe was from The House of Lords at the Sahara. It also looked like they had one of those great jeweled hanging lamps from the Sahara buffet. Are those from the Sahara and are there any other Sahara or Riviera artifacts given new life elsewhere in Las Vegas?

It seems to me that as the gulf widens between the Strip ripoff casinos and the locals' joints in terms of price and value, the latter might be missing out in terms of not marketing to out-of-towners. A weekend at South Point, Orleans, Red Rock, etc. will provide a visitor with all the standard Vegas amenities and gambling opportunities, but costs several hundred dollars less than a stay on the Strip. So why aren't the locals' casinos trying to pull in the tourists?
