My casino host has been very good to me over the years. Is it appropriate to get my host a gift? Are they allowed to accept gifts?

I recently took the tour of Wayne Newton's Casa de Shenandoah, which I enjoyed very much. While in the visitor center across the street, waiting for the shuttle, I sat in a booth that I believe was from The House of Lords at the Sahara. It also looked like they had one of those great jeweled hanging lamps from the Sahara buffet. Are those from the Sahara and are there any other Sahara or Riviera artifacts given new life elsewhere in Las Vegas?

It seems to me that as the gulf widens between the Strip ripoff casinos and the locals' joints in terms of price and value, the latter might be missing out in terms of not marketing to out-of-towners. A weekend at South Point, Orleans, Red Rock, etc. will provide a visitor with all the standard Vegas amenities and gambling opportunities, but costs several hundred dollars less than a stay on the Strip. So why aren't the locals' casinos trying to pull in the tourists?

Do you know anything about the two new three-story buildings being planned at the Las Vegas Country Club? I believe the buyers are in some sort of 60-day due diligence period, but that's about all I've read and know about it. I'm surprised there's not more news about it since it will impact traffic in the area as a whole, not to mention muddle up a peaceful community (yes, I live there).

Just received an email from Wynn that Lady Gaga is performing December 30 in the Encore theater and tickets are $1,000 and $1,500! Is $1,000 for the cheapest seats a record?

My wife and I will be in Las Vegas the end of January into the first week of February. Can you tell us the closest places to ski/snowboard to Las Vegas. How about available rentals and cost.

For the past eleven years I have flown to Las Vegas three or four times a year on Allegiant. It's nonstop and at least $200 cheaper than any other carrier from my area. If it wasn't for Allegiant, I would only come to Las Vegas once every two years. Has Allegiant ever reported on the number of passengers it transports?

As Nevada is an open-carry state, where are you NOT allowed to carry a non-concealed handgun?

My wife and I just toured the MONA Museum of Neon Art in Glendale, California. Searching the QoD archives, we came up with the early, pre-Las Vegas history of neon, but we're wondering when neon became the dominant signage in Las Vegas. Also, what happened to it? It's not so prevalent anymore.

I asked this a few years ago and want to see if anything has changed. Are there any behind-the-scenes tours of hotels, shows, Las Vegas underground? Took one tour about eight years ago underneath Caesar's Palace. It was great.
