Can you tell me if crime in Las Vegas for the past five years has gone up or down? Can you list the percentage of crimes: murder, robbery, rape, burglary, stealing (purse snatching, pickpockets, and store thefts), casino cheating, and prostitution? I know that this is a lot to ask, but I think your readers would like to know the answers.

We've been visiting Vegas for 20 years and have visited in all seasons and have never been ones to stick to the Strip: We've always included hiking in the desert and visiting local attractions in our trips. Recently, we have even saved up errands so we could try local businesses (for example, getting an iPad fixed). Do you have any specific or "insider" advice for us? Do you have any facts and figures on how many retirees come to Las Vegas, only to find out they don't enjoy it and move away? Bottom line, is the local area conducive to aging comfortably, or are there "cons," other than the obvious, that we should be aware of?
