Can you tell me if crime in Las Vegas for the past five years has gone up or down? Can you list the percentage of crimes: murder, robbery, rape, burglary, stealing (purse snatching, pickpockets, and store thefts), casino cheating, and prostitution? I know that this is a lot to ask, but I think your readers would like to know the answers.

I was surprised to see the Golden Nugget listed as a hotel with no plans for hotel self check-in kiosks in a recent QoD. The last time I was there (granted, close to a year ago), they had kiosks near the Carson Tower elevator lobby that allowed guests to check-in to the hotel and get their room keys. I found some older TripAdvisor reviews that mentioned them there, too. Have they removed them?

Few Questions of the Day have generated as much feedback, or controversy, as our recent one about the pros and cons of moving to Southern Nevada, particularly skewed toward seniors. Specifically, readers took issue with the contention, conveyed to our writer by a representative of on of the non-profits offering services to senior citizens, that Social Security benefits vary based on the cost of living in different parts of the country. Today, we revisit that issue, along with a few other aspects of relocating here that we didn't touch on, or not in detail, in the original answer.
