The construction between 7th and 8th on Fremont is driving me crazy with wonder. There is a small domed round building and I'm curious as to what it will be. The construction is by Breslin Brothers and one of several small buildings to be constructed. Thanks.

Following the 5/6/13 QoD about hotel Internet access and resort fees, here’s the promised status update from MGM Resorts International.

Concerning a previous answer about resort fees, I understand that any business' goal is to make money on everything they do or sell, but how can they possibly justify $20/day for high-speed Internet access? This costs me, at home, less than $1/day! How do the resorts get charged? One fee for the entire property? Per room? Per usage? And charging for phone usage in this day of almost (surgically attached) universal cell phone ownership … does ANYONE actually use in-room phones for anything besides intra-hotel usage?

On the drive from Las Vegas back to California, there’s an exit sign for an unpronounceable town by the name of Zzyzx and I’ve always wondered where on earth that name came from (and how do you say it?) Can you help? Thanks!

In Vegas last week, I took a cab from Bally's to the Marriott Grand Chateau by the MGM. The driver was going along the backside of Bally's, when a woman tried to flag him down, unaware he had a fare. He stopped, got out of the cab, and told her he had a fare, but asked where she was going. She was going the other direction, but another couple behind her said they were going to the Hard Rock hotel, which was in the direction we were going, so he picked them up!!! Isn't that illegal? He was basically double dipping because he got a full fare from me and a full fare from the other two. I didn't know these people and honestly, I thought it was skeevy of him to add two other passengers to my ride. I didn't get the driver's name or license but after thinking about it, it seems wrong to pick up "side" fares.

I am curious about your buffet list. How often is the list and rating updated and what is the procedure for determining the number of stars?

I see where the State Of Nevada may soon pass a law banning ownership of exotic animals. It made me wonder, does Las Vegas even have a zoo?
