We always rent a car when we visit Vegas and love the horse and mountain-ram sculptures along the I-15. Can you tell me something about them?

Caesars is spending in excess of $500 million on the Linq project and is now eyeing Toronto as a potential site for a new resort. My question is, with all this new building going on why did they let the Margaritaville Hotel & Casino project die in Biloxi? After four years it is still just a huge slab of concrete on the beach. Grand Biloxi is a poor substitute and does about half the business of the Beau Rivage or Hard Rock (just one mile down the road) on a normal weekend.

I have been coming to Las Vegas 3-4 times a year for 20 years and avoid the Strip at all costs. I like to stay at the locals casinos (South Point, Stations, Ellis Island, etc.) Are there any stats on how many out-of-towners do as I do?

You guys are always updating road closures in and around the Las Vegas area. It made me wonder how many of your members are locals or within a 4-hour drive of the area? Just curious.

Now that pool season has begun, is there a health code regarding bringing your own food, snacks, soda, water, etc. into a pool area? Friends of ours were staying at Tahiti Village (time-share) last week and were not allowed to take snacks, soda, water into the pool area. Their bags were searched everytime and they could only purchase these items on the premises. They were cited a health code, but it had never happened before. New health code, or a scam?

I have a bunch of chips I forgot to cash in before I left town. I called the three casinos that I had chips from and two said that it was against the law for them to buy via mail and one said "no problem". Is there a law preventing a casino from buying my chips back through the mail?

Your QOD from May 4th briefly mentioned some history on the Bonanza Gift Shop. Can you give us the full history on the site and how the gift store came to be? The QOD archives does not have a lot of info on it.

For many years we've stayed at the Flamingo mainly for their tennis courts. With the Linq project underway, they have gotten rid of their courts. Do you know of anywhere else on the Strip (or close by) that has courts available?

I’m curious what the vacancy rates are now compared to the pre-2008 glory days and also what the minimum vacancy rate has to be for them to break even. They may have 3,000 rooms but at the rates they charge, can they survive if only 50% are rented?

When will Shenandoah be open to public and do you think it will be worth the entrance fee?
