It seems like it's all doom and gloom in Vegas these days. Is anything opening or happening this year that could be a sign that things are starting to look up?

What do you know about the zip-line at Fremont Street? At first I heard it was temporary & now I heard rumors they will expand it to the full length of the Fremont Experience. I was hoping to get a group to come in May maybe do that if it will still be there. Are there weight restrictions? One friend is about 250 lbs.

A few years ago I enjoyed a mug of Hot Buttered Rum at The Orleans and again at Bellagio. Since then, I've been to Vegas several times a year but I especially like to go in winter -- and no such drink! Do you know of any place that will have Hot Buttered Rum?

When I was downtown I noticed the neon signs on Fremont East between El Cortez and Fremont Experience. The red high-heel shoe is interesting. What hotel did that come from? The Silver Slipper is one of my favorites and I saw that in the Neon Museum and did not know that there was another shoe.

Joe K's trip report [on the LasVegasAdvisor.com forums] mentions that Laughlin is in serious trouble. I have read volumes on the Vegas problems but that is the first I've heard about Laughlin. Do you have more info?
