We know that, as in many cities, Las Vegas restaurants are routinely expected by the Health Department, and we've seen letter grades posted in individual restaurants. Is there an online listing for all restaurants in the area showing inspection scores and reports.

I read the QoD every day … you folks do a terrific job. I was wondering how many casinos exist in the United States. I remember the old days when one had to go to Nevada to visit a casino. Today, casinos seem to be almost everywhere. Could you list the number of casinos by state and the number in each state that are owned by Native American tribes?

I just read from another poker blog from Lee Jones that effective 12/14 there will not be a hotel or a coffee shop at the Horseshoe Hotel in downtown Las Vegas, but they’re keeping the poker room. It doesn’t make sense to me to eliminate the hotel, but keep the poker room. What will be happening to the hotel?

I was reading my pilfered copy of Wynn magazine today, and noticed it is a Greenspun publication; a sister to Vegas magazine, among others. This made me wonder how large the circulation of Wynn is and how it compares to Vegas and other specialty Las Vegas magazines?

Flying into Vegas for the New Year's weekend. We will not get into town until 9 p.m .on New Year's Eve. Would we be better off to get a cab or rent a car at that time of night on "that night"? Want to get to the Strip ASAP.

I've been to Las Vegas about 25 times and, though I love the casinos, each time I go I like to find something new (non-gambling) to do. I've gone rock climbing, visited the Neon Boneyard, the Pinball Hall of Fame, and many other cool things. One thing I've always wanted to try is hot air ballooning, and I think between the views of the Strip and the mountains, Las Vegas would be perfect for that. Can you tell me if there are any companies in Vegas that do hot-air ballooning, and what they cost, how long it takes, what you see, and what else is involved?

I will be in Las Vegas the first week in December and would love to see some of the off-Strip residential or commercial areas that are decorated for the holidays. I fly in and do not rent a car. Are there any places within walking distance or are shuttles available to take people to some of the holiday displays?
