I'll be visiting Vegas for the first time soon. While reading about the city's traffic patterns, I've encountered the name of a highway called the "Desert Inn Connector" (or something similar to that). It's been mentioned as a good way to traverse parts of Vegas. What exactly is the "Desert Inn Connector," and where is it? What is its main utility for traveling around Vegas?

We're coming out to Las Vegas this Christmas and bringing the kids. Is there anything that really stands out in Vegas this time of year that is a "must-see?" And what other Christmas-related events and displays will be available? Are there any additional activities not listed on the LVA site that would make a visit enjoyable for the whole family?

I was wondering if the topic of fitness has come up before? Specifically, hotels or other places in Las Vegas that offer classes (such as spinning) to out-of-town guests. I know Green Valley Ranch does, but do you know if anywhere else does? I'm trying to find activities for my wife next trip out -- she likes to sit by the pool, but December doesn't work so well for that.

One of the TV shows on Las Vegas reviewed pawn shops as part of the "Vegas experience." In your opinion, which pawn shop would provide the best "experience," both from a tourist perspective as well as offering a fair price for an item you might pawn?

I enjoy taking my family to Las Vegas several times a year and my kids love to swim. We live in Chicago and like to escape during the cold winter months but it's difficult to find nice hotels in Vegas that have indoor pools/whirpools. My first question is, can you provide and list of some "name" hotels near the strip that have indoor pools? Second, I know it's a desert climate, but there are a number of Las Vegas days that are just not suitable for outdoor pools, so why is it that these major hotels don't have indoor ones?
