Question of the Day - 20 October 2025

Q:

Regarding Monday Night Football. I’m looking for a fun place to watch, off of the strip. By fun I mean a big crowd, lively atmosphere, and food & drink specials. I was thinking of trying South Point; I hear that they use the showroom for MNF. I know that the big promotions of the past are gone, but do you have any suggestions?

A:

Hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but the most Monday Night Football parties have gone the way of 99-cent shrimp cocktails, $2 steak specials, $4.99 breakfast buffets, and $9.99 king crab leg dinners.

As Anthony Curtis writes in his Couponomy column in this month's Las Vegas Advisor, "There was a time when we checked out more than 40 casinos and bars to identify the best Monday Night Football parties and deals in time for the October issue. That was then, this is now, and every year the pickin's get slimmer. Last year, there were only two big parties, the mainstays at South Point and Sapphire gentlemen’s club. This year we’re down to just Sapphire."

Now, if you don't mind paying an admission charge, we'd say South Point is still the go-to. There's the usual big party in the showroom, but this year for the first time ever, you'll be paying $10 to get in. That includes a drink, you can avail yourself of $1.50 hot dogs and $2 beers, and there's still a cash raffle for $1,000.

Though Anthony concludes, "The $10 entry fee kind of ruins the whole MNF bargain thing and perpetuates the perception of the Vegas gouge that now even South Point wants in on," we can say that in this day and age, $10 for your "big crowd, lively atmosphere, and food & drink specials" isn't too steep a price to pay. You can park for free, make your sports bets conveniently, and even have a slim chance of winning the $1,000 drawing.

If you're at all into the strip joint scene, Anthony reports that Sapphire's party comes with two drinks, an excellent buffet, raffles throughout the game, and "the obvious scenery"—the dancers serve as cocktail waitresses. You'll pay $28 to get in, but you can probably have fun there.

Otherwise, as always, Anthony recommends just heading to the nearest sports book. Westgate's is a good one: $1 beer and $2 hot dogs. Arrive early to get a seat.

    No Interest
Speaking for myself, I have no interest in the fixed NFL.

    SouthPoint
The sports bar lounge (back side of the sports bar) has a lively crowd with dedicated cocktail servers as well as bar service. It's also close to the hot dog stand.
