Question of the Day - 28 February 2026

Q:

Can you bet on Wrestlemania?

A:

So far, it seems too early to bet on Wrestlemania 42, which doesn't take place for another month and a half (April 18-19) at Allegiant Stadium.

Of course, regulated sports books (DraftKings, FanDuel, Fanatics, BetMGM, Circa Sports, et al.) generally don't offer markets on scripted events like WWE due to integrity concerns.

As for prediction markets, it seems to us that markets will be made for match winners and specialized prop bets, but our research suggests that those plans haven't resolved; since thus far the stars, such as Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, Liv Morgan, and Rhea Ripley, are only rumored to be appearing, setting precise betting odds is difficult at this stage.

As we examined earlier this month in a pair of QoDs, insider trading is not only rampant, but in some cases and ways expected and even encouraged on prediction markets. So although we wouldn't wade into the swamp of betting on predetermined outcomes, if you think you know something that others don't, when the time comes to trade on prediction markets, you might want to do so and you'll most likely be able to.

    Surprised Me Today
When I saw this question, I thought time had skipped a beat and it was already April 1st.

    Scripted entertainment
Since all wrestling is scripted and planned, the only real thing we should be able to bet on is if someone gets injured so they can't finish the match (really injured - not just for the show). That's the only thing that could change a scripted the outcome.

    "Sport"
Can we bet on the average IQ of the spectators? I would say 45.

    Define "can"
There was a time when Nevada sportsbooks could only take bets on sporting events, unless they had specific permission from the Gaming Control Board. A few years ago, they got rid of the restriction, except that they still cannot accept bets on elections. This would allow accepting bets on things like the Oscars.

They "can" accept bets on WrestleMania. However, it is doubtful that they "will," if for no other reason that, for the most part, the results are known in advance, so somebody working for WWE would have advance knowledge.
It wasn't that long ago that the winner of the women's Royal Rumble wasn't even scheduled to be in the match - and, despite this, was the online betting favorite. It would be very easy to "leak" a result, causing the odds to change, and then have the actual result be different.

    The question is
    Do I want to? No
