Question of the Day - 10 January 2026

Q:

I see that CardVault by Tom Brady has opened a branch in Las Vegas. Never heard of it. What is it and how and why is Brady involved?

A:

CardVault by Tom Brady is a retail chain and online marketplace specializing in sports trading cards, Pokémon and other trading card games (TCGs), authenticated memorabilia, and collectibles. It offers services for buying, selling, trading, and professional grading (through partners like PSA, Beckett, and SGC).

Founded in 2020, the company gained major momentum in February 2025 when former quarterback Tom Brady acquired a 50% ownership stake, leading to its rebranding with "Tom Brady" in the name. Brady is a lifelong card collector and his involvement has led to rapid expansion, with "an emphasis on community, authenticity, and immersive experiences for fans and collectors," according to company statements.

The stores feature curated selections of cards and packs from brands like Topps, Panini, Upper Deck, and Fanatics Authentic, plus "vault" displays of authenticated, autographed, and game-used memorabilia, from jerseys and footballs to rare cards and one-of-one pieces curated specifically for the individual markets. The company also operates CardVault Breaks, its live-streaming business, where fans can join real-time card openings and community-driven collecting experiences.

As of today, CardVault has 10 locations in the U.S., including its newest at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, which is also its West Coast debut). The other nine are in such major sports locations as Boston, Chicago, and East Rutherford (New Jersey), and East Hampton (New York), with plans for more at Mall of America (Minneapolis), San Francisco, and Dallas.

    Tom
he could easily boost their business by sitting in the window like Pete Rose (Rip) used to do.

    Press release
Normally I like 99.9% of the QOD answers but this one seems like it was taken straight out of the card vault PR department. I worked 12 years for a national memorabilia chain and i DO hope they succeed but i have serious doubts based on my visit there in December. Retail is tough in general but especially tough on the strip and their prices were nuts, plus they only had ONE brady autograph that could be purchased for half the price on many internet sites.

    PR
Speaking of PR, if I hear one more business refer to their product experience as "immersive" I'm going to scream

    San Francisco?
Mandalay Bay is the newest location, but they have a shop in San Francisco? Wouldn't San Francisco have been the West Coast debut?

    Intriguing......

Upper Deck used to have something like that
I remember Upper Deck used to have a store like that. I think it was in the 90s. Don't remember where the shop was. Signed balls, jerseys, uniforms, cards, etc. However, people would question if the autographs were real so the shop didn't last long. At least this shop has certified autographs.

    Brady
I have 2 Patriots white jersey's and 2 footballs, all signed by Brady. I just saw online that the price in a frame it $3500 for the jersey, and $2500 for the footballs. Cannot believe that. He must of signed 500 different things over a 2.5 year period while we worked on his house. No way can they be worth that much.
