Question of the Day - 14 April 2026

Q:

Have you heard anything of Carl "Sax Man" Ferris, lately? Had his personal cell number and several years ago, purchased a set of all of his CDs, one for my personal collection and one as a gift for my brother. At the time, he was working on a additional CD, which I also wanted to add to the collection. Would still love to. Any clue?

A:

In August 2021, VitalVegas reported that Carl “Safe Sax” Ferris, "won’t return to performing at the famed pedestrian mall in downtown Las Vegas." Ferris told VV that he's "moving on to new projects."

Ferris was a perennially popular performer who stood on the back of a truck that, it turns out, was owned by Fremont Street Experience, to play to the crowds on Fremont Street up to six nights a week.

We searched high and low and managed to find a Facebook post from June 2023, in which Ferris announced a new business venture, Safe Sax Entertainment, in which he touted his live performances at private events, along with his ambition to create and sell merchandise at his live shows. The post encouraged viewers to "stay turned for updates," but that was where the latest trail stopped.

We also found someone selling Ferris' 2005 CD, All Blown Out, for sale on eBay for $24.39. But we couldn't find any news or sales of a new CD by him.

Sorry we couldn't be of more assistance. If anyone knows anything more about Carl Ferris, please let us all know. A lot of people miss his solos and engaging performances downtown. We know we do.

If it’s as bad as they say in Vegas, why don’t they stop the resort and parking fees? Lower food prices? Give people a reason to come back?
