Question of the Day - 07 March 2020

Q:

Can I cash a winning sports betting ticket from Vegas in Pennsylvania?

A:

We submitted this question to William Hill, which manages sports books all over the county. Here's what we heard back.

"If you place a sports bet at William Hill in Nevada, you can cash it in at any William Hill sports book in Nevada. If it’s a horse-race ticket, you can cash it only at the property where you bought it at. You can't cash a ticket out of state, even at one of our sports books."

Will Hill added, "If you're unable to cash a winning ticket that you bought in Nevada, just follow the instructions on the back of the ticket and send it to us via registered mail. We'll cash it and send your winnings to you in the return post."

Similarly, if you have a casino credit (marker) account, or even an account with a cash deposit (front money), you can only use it at that one casino and not at sister properties - even one right next door.

Possible exceptions are Venetian/Palazzo or Linq/O’Sheas etc since they have a single casino license.

    Sports bets
I've not made a bet at every sports book in Las Vegas but for all the ones I have it specifically says on the back of the ticket to redeem it in person or mail it in. I haven't seen any that said "you can cash this at any of our USA locations".
