Question of the Day - 17 December 2022

Q:

As a follow-up to today's question (on why Derek Stevens invested so heavily in the sports book at Circa), what does it cost to get a VIP booth or seats in the CIrca sports book?

And

Today’s answer said Circa’s sports book is in the top two worldwide in size; what’s the other one?

A:

First question. The cost of seats in Circa Sportsbook depends on the day and event.

On any given Sunday during football season, they start at $75 for the morning shift (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) in the Legends Club (first tier), going to $200 for the evening (4:30-9 p.m.) and $250 for all day. The prices are for the food and beverage minimum for one person (since only one person can sit in a chair); the all-day deal for $250 is all-inclusive, with a premium open bar and stadium style food.

Prices go up from there as you go up in tiers: $200/$800/$900 for the Champions Club to $300/$1,200/$1,500 for Millionaire's Row in the Circa Club.

You can see all the choices, including a 360-degree view from the seats, and put down a deposit or prepay in full, plus send inquiries, from the Circa Sports pages of the Circa website. It's a very clean and efficient presentation.

Second question. The other top-two sports book in size, and the original biggest, is the SuperBook at Westgate. They both claim to be the largest and though we have an opinion on it, we're not taking sides. Suffice it to say that they're both cathedrals dedicated to sports, sports broadcasts, and sports betting.

Much more value at the book.

    Ripoff
Gotta hand it to Dandy Derek, I never thought he could persuade enough idiots to pony up $20 just to sit in his goddamn sports book. I guess if you get people to pay for something they can get anywhere else for free, that makes you an innovator.

    Ridiculous
I think that paying such large amounts of money just to sit in a sports book is ridiculous. There are plenty of other sports books where you can sit and watch games for free. And just as good (if not better!) would be to sit in a sports bar or sports restaurant like Buffalo Wild Wings. Why pay a fortune?

The whole basis of LVA is to give opinions but you won't take sides? LOL

    Circa for high rollers
circa does not want the average working guy in their casino.

    Prefer Westgate
Definitely more of a fan at Westgate- Circa is too loud to be there for a whole football game.

    Interesting Analogy
" The NFL is nothing more than crack cocaine for those who don't have a life and who have more money than sense." Unlike casino gambling of course. 🙂

Caste system emerging at Main and Fremont Sts
Circa sports book, their hotel room rates and other pricing clearly indicates they want to be a Strip-like property that's located downtown. I guess Mr Stevens wants to elevate things at his newest place, and let the low-rollers visit his other properties Golden Gate and The D (Fitzgeralds). In a way he's trying to improve the downtown/Fremont St area, but there's quite a difference between Circa and a place like Four Queens. My heart is with Four Queens, something about places like it that appeals to me.

    $
Ah, so it's just another revenue stream for the "big guy" kind of thing to make some extra money? If so, might be < 10% though, casino owners can find more revenue and profit elsewhere in the casino I'd guess?

In the end, it's a biz, more power to those who can make more bucks I say. As for the customers, if one can eat and drink enough, + the experience, some appear to find enjoyment with the product offered. Cheapskates aren't their target market obviously. And for those judging it's a ripoff, one persons perceived ripoff is another persons joy. Heck some would see even cheapskate low rollers pounding money into machines and table games that can't be beat in the long run are silly and reckless with their hard earned money even if it's $20 so stones and glass houses kind of thing, right? To each their own.

    Virtual book of values
For those of us who are less adept at using virtual technology, please explain exactly how the online or virtual coupon books will work. I have been using the print book for years. Not sure how this will work. There were already some advertisers who had difficulty accepting the print coupons!
