Whatever happened to Clint Holmes? He used to be a top headliner with a must-see show if you visited Las Vegas.
In 1999, singer Clint Holmes, known for his silky vocals and warm comedic style, made the move from Atlantic City to Las Vegas. It was considered risky by some to leave his loyal following back east, but after cutting his teeth downtown at the Golden Nugget, Holmes embarked on a five-year run at Harrah's on the Strip, which renamed its showroom for him.
In addition to being a popular headliner, Holmes became an active member of the Las Vegas community, working with several local causes and hosting numerous fundraising events.
In September 2006, Holmes performed his final show at Harrah's, but he still pops up from time to time on the Las Vegas entertainment scene. Also in 2006, he premiered his self-penned show, Just Another Man, at UNLV’s Judy Bayley Theatre.
Nowadays, Holmes maintains an active performing calendar in and out of Las Vegas. Venues that have recently hosted Holmes include Birdland in New York City and Feinstein’s in Los Angeles. Hereabouts, he performs every other month at Myron’s, the stylish 240-seat music venue showcasing cabaret-style jazz performances at the Smith Center downtown.
So check the Smith Center calendar if you’re coming to Las Vegas and make reservations. And keep an eye peeled for Holmes playing at a jazz club or on a cruise ship near you.
