Is the double up option available on VP or slots anywhere in Vegas? I used to enjoy the double option (and felt it was the only way to really win) when it was available in Oregon bars and lottery locations. But the option was taken out many years ago and I stopped playing because of it.
The Double Up function, also known as Double Down or Double or Nothing, is apparently making a comeback around the country -- at least if the number of questions we receive about it is any indication.
We don't track their locations, which can change at the drop of a hat. That's because many video poker machines include the feature and can be enabled and disabled at the discretion of the casino manager, slot manager, or even a slot attendant if asked.
In addition, Double Up can appear in a couple of ways. The obvious way is an in-your-face screen popping up after every paying hand, offering the chance to double your bet. Many players rebel against this option and ask an attendant to disable it. Some machines, however, have a more discreet button below the winning hand that you can push to double.
Last we heard, Double Up could be found on some machines downtown at the Fremont, Four Queens, and Main Street Station, plus at the Skyline in Henderson, but again, they could very well be gone by now.
If anyone has played Double Up in Las Vegas recently, please let us know where in the comments.
