Are there any five-star or five-diamond hotels in Las Vegas? And are there other rating systems that Las Vegas hotels might be in the highest tier?
AAA defines a Five Diamond property as one that reflects "the characteristics of the ultimate in luxury and sophistication. Accommodations are first class. The physical attributes are extraordinary in every manner. The fundamental hallmarks at this level are to meticulously serve and exceed all guest expectations, while maintaining an impeccable standard of excellence. Many personalized services and amenities enhance an unmatched level of comfort."
Those are some big boots to fill; hence, in its 2026 ratings, only three Las Vegas hotels qualified for the prestigious AAA Five Diamonds: Four Seasons (at Mandalay Bay, for the 27th year in a row), the Villas at Caesars Palace (newly awarded in 2025), and the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas.
Historically, other properties like the ARIA Sky Suites, Bellagio, Venetian, Wynn, and Skylofts at MGM Grand have held Five Diamond status, but the most recent list is limited to the above three.
Forbes 2026 Five-Star Hotels often include hotels-within-hotels that represent the highest level of luxury, service, and amenities according to Forbes inspectors and do so this year, with the ARIA Sky Suites (14th consecutive year), Encore Tower Suites, Skylofts at MGM Grand (17th in a row), and Wynn Tower Suites (20th consecutive year, the longest-running in Las Vegas).
Four Seasons also garners high Forbes acclaim (especially for its spa), though the 2026 Five-Stars seem to focus more on suites and towers. Other properties like the broader Wynn and Encore products, Crockfords (at Resorts World), and commonly receive Four-Star ratings or strong recommendations, but not consistent Five-Star for the full hotel experience.
As far as other rating systems go, Forbes took over the Mobil ratings in 2009, so that and AAA are the big boys domestically. General star ratings used by travel agencies and websites (Expedia, Booking.com, etc.) provide a quick guide to what a guest can expect regarding room size, amenities, and service quality. And while not "systems," sites like Yelp, TripAdvisor, and Google reviews are considered crucial by modern travelers, offering aggregate sentiment from guests.
