There was an advertisement sign near Horseshoe several years ago for a Game of Thrones Dragon Experience coming to Las Vegas, but as far as I know, it hasn’t come to fruition. Any updates on status?
The Game of Thrones Dragon Experience (officially "Game of Thrones: Dragons") was another in a long long line of attractions that were announced for Las Vegas, then faded away with no conclusive explanation.
It was teased in December 2022 by HBO/Warner Bros. and partners (including SP Immersive Entertainment and Caesars Entertainment) as an immersive "flying" theater-style attraction featuring dragons from the popular HBO series. A promotional site (gotdragonslv.com) and social media ran dragon footage over a charred Las Vegas backdrop, positioning it as a thrill ride/immersive experience near the Strip.
Plans called for a prefabricated venue on a surface parking lot just east of the Horseshoe Las Vegas on Flamingo Road. Fencing went up in early 2023, with expectations of a year or so to build and open.
However, the project went dormant.
The official social channels and site remained inactive after the initial hype and no more PR, opening dates, or ticket availability ever materialized. Rumors surfaced about a potential move to The Strat (in some of its shuttered mall spaces), but nothing happened there either.
In July of last year, the deal was confirmed dead by Caesars.
In short, dragons were promised for Las Vegas, but never arrived. The project appears to have been a victim of delays, waning brand momentum post-series finale, and shifting casino development priorities.
