Question of the Day - 02 November 2019

Q:

With the Hard Rock announcing a complete closing as opposed to phases and a shorter closure, what will happen with all of the progressive jackpots? Will they just hold them over for when they reopen or will they do something similar to what the Riviera did by distributing via drawings?

A:

Michael Lawton of the Nevada Gaming Control Board says it’s too soon to call.

“The Hard Rock is aware of the regulations related to distributing progressives. The Gaming Control Board has had correspondence with the licensee [Hard Rock] and there are various options for handling the progressives.

"The licensee is still internally deciding how they want to handle this, which is acceptable, due to the fact that they have plenty of time before their announced temporary closure.”

Feel free to ask us again as we get closer to the HRH’s shutdown next February.

What happens to the Hard Rock's progressive jackpots after the shutdown?

    Hard Rock Employees
I could have sworn that yesterday the question for today was with the closing of the Hard Rock for an extended period of time what would happen to the employees. If I was seeing things then I do have that question. Will all be laid off or will some be given pay during that time to retain them?

    Employee pay
A friends wife is a long time Hard Rock employee. She’s getting 10 weeks pay. After that she’ll probably go un unemployment until the renovations are complete.
