I was looking forward to learning a new Deke word for this, when I realized that there isn't any--just the clumsy "question based on a false premise." Very well. I hereby claim the right of coinage. Today's last sentence in the QoD is a "bullshitism."

The person who asked this should be kidnapped, dragged to a Strip casino, tarred and feathered, chained to a $50 minimum 6:5 blackjack table, forced to play until he's lost all of his money, comped a stale bagel (no cream cheese), and heaved out onto the street.

You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink. I commented once on LVA’s YouTube doesn’t have more followers. Las Vegas is supported by people who don’t read anything about gambling before they go and lose their bankroll. When I suggest to a vp player to test themselves on software I’m not surprised that they come back and say they play close enough and keep on shoving c-notes into paper shredding ultimate-x machines. Sometimes I’ll comment that we should hand paint signs “hell no,we won’t pay for parking.” People would point and laugh as the police drag us to a hospital for mental evaluation. I’m surprised they haven’t brought back pay toilets. I hope it’s free to top tier players or we can use reward credits. How can South Point be anti LVA. They should fly your flag along with their own. Corporate casinos are much worse than organized crime. They’re both skimming of the top. The only difference is the corporations pay tax. I’m going back to sleep.

I saw that question, and had to read it a few times to make sure what I saw was real.  I have always trusted LVA to be the most reliable and consistent ally of the gambler.  Bringing focus to the best values, practices, and sources of information that allow players the best advantages to keep more money in their pockets, and to enjoy the best experiences.  I thank and appreciate and respect the LVA team for tireless devotion and work toward these ends.  The person that asked that question is incredibly off track, and just doesn't get it.

Honestly, the only place on the interwebs where I can read player-friendly gambling advice is the LVA. It's the reason why I've subscribed for a dozen years or so. on EVERY trip I make to Vegas (3-4x per year) I save $$$ using the info gleaned through the newsletter and associated features of the site. Keep up the good work, fellas.

Your response is perfect.  Been a LVA member for a couple of decades +.  Why do I keep hanging out here?  LVA is on my side in the great "us against them" casino war.  

I'M guessing the sender meant to send his/her (have to be PC) to another site. All of us long time subscribers know that Anthony and the entire LVA team are om "our side"

The poser of the question must have recently lost a bundle, somewhere, sometime, perhaps many times.  That cannot be remotely related to the many, many efforts of LVA to advocate for subscribers and players.  Good reply, deke and all.

What happened to cause Southpoint to be anti LVA? They used to provide the breakfast buffet twofer and pulled it out. And why did Caesars pull their Bacchanal buffet coupon? Inquiring minds want to know.... And Stations those uppity bunch that use to participate?

If everyone stopped going to LV for a month, stopped gambling and ate in a non casino restaurant, things would change very quickly. We have no one to blame but ourselves not LVA.

Obviously, the questioner isn't reading the same LVA Content as the rest of us. 
 

I hear the guy's frustration, but his anger is 100% misdirected. For me it's as easy as "avoid the Strip and NEVER gamble there."

I think that person came to Las Vegas and LOST a lot of money. Now taking the frustration out on the good guys!  Keep up the good work,LVA. 

The response was excellent, and so not deserved by the person who asked for it.  But the rest of us say THANKS!!

When I saw the preview of the question yesterday, I thought it was deliberately provoking. Today, I wonder; but don't particularly care.  The best thing about the LVA is not that it's on anyone's side. For me, the best thing is that I have enough information to make my own decisions. 

Right On! I can't really add to it, though I was going to suggest we all boycott LV for a year, not a month. Since I'm here I'd like to express my deep respect for LVA and all of it's staff. I also have been a member for about 20 years and I don't see that ending while I'm still breathing. Thank you Deke, Anthony, staff and contributors.

I recently returned from a trip to Vegas inwhich I successfully Raided a major strip property. The haul was four comped room nights with no resort fees. I might add fifty dollars of free food. Thank you LVA, for your advice. I drove to the South Point, and played poker. 

Keep up the great work LVA.  Been a longtime reader and a 10 year subscriber.  Very pleased with your work. You improved my visits, and now I'm a proud local.  You make my experience here in Law Vegas better.   Thank YOU!

This question has to be on the short list of the all time worst QOD submissions. There are some miserable people out there.

this has got to be a trick question of the day...lva is T.H.E. best source of dependable insights into the world of gambling, advantage play, bargain food/drink and all things to inform and enlighten the uninformed and unenlightened...everything about lva reeks of values to be had and games to be avoided...how anybody could claim otherwise is pure poppycock...me thinks the submitter of this q.o.d. has eaten too many magic edibles for their own good...fin

Smile and say "Good Morning" to 10 people these days and at least 1 of them will bark back, nastily, "What's so F*****G good about it?" There's always one! Just keep doing what you are doing. Also surprised and impressed you bothered to respond to this.

One thing you need to note about Resorts World parking is that the free period only applies to Nevada residents.  All others pay the $18 unless you have Elite status.  I managed to earn it but had to pay it anyway since they ran out of Elite cards while I was there.  Ouch.

I totally agree with the above comments that appropriately defend LVA. I've subscribed for over 20 years, and the reason is that you tell it like it is. Keep it up!!

i may not all ways agree with lva writes but is all ways food for thought and as for boycotting lv how many people that make a living by working at a casino would be hyrt.

i wonder who has the BEST players club also as they keep changing the rules for the casino advantage not the players

WOW!!  I was entertained by all the various comments about the question of the day today. I have been going to Vegas annually, (or more), for a 18+ years 
and find the LVA To be my BEST source of Information!!  Deek, always answers my personal emails to him in a very timely manner, besides the fact, that LVA ROCKS!!, providing me with all the information I need and MORE!!  Keep up the good work, and don’t let the naysayers get to you!!

Earth 1 calling  Earth 2.  LVA great help to the low roller!  On a personal note I have had Chats with  Antony Curtis at the Gold Coast, Downtown Grand etc In addition had a discussion about the style of hot dogs on line at the Coney in the “D”.  Keep up the good work LVA!

Mr Curtis i am glad that it makes all of you feel good but remember there is all ways room for improvement as you kmow and you never stop learning 

is how the vast majority of visitors to Las Vegas spend their money and show up and support what is. End of story. Beyond the QOD, or how LVA reports on the best values here or there, posters here agreeing it's all bad, it's for nothing. People are spending a bunch on the strip and visit in droves no matter the gambling odds. Fight it, complain about it, stamp your feet, yell, or swear at it will get you nowhere except needless stress. I don't like certain things but that and a nickel will get me nothing. Almighty dollar rules. Always has, always will.

You go back and read the ENTIRE reply.  It isn't about what WE readers like and don't like. 

It is, again, about how LVA staff busts THEIR butts, day in and day out, taking seriously our concerns, questions, complaints...and addresses them in every way possible.  And yes, continuously improving.

When they hear of a bargain they hunt it down, and test it, and review it.

Have you complainers bought even one of the many books available from LVA (at amazingly low cost, BTW) on every game, cost-saving measure, eatery, betting strategy, and more?  

Do you read the monthly Newsletter, which, from the very first one on paper (maybe 1985 or so?), before online, and to this day, has increased vastly in text, photos, reviews...the info right at your computer whenever you have the time to search and take in?

BTW, they are archived online for us, all the way back to...whenever, which is amazing in itself.
