Where are the Henderson Silver Knights currently playing their games and when will their new stadium be finished?
The Henderson Silver Knights are the American Hockey League team owned by Bill Foley, who also owns the Vegas Golden Knights. Last year, Foley bought the San Antonio Rampage AHL team, moved it to Henderson, and renamed it.
This season, which is scheduled for 40 games, the home games are being played at the Orleans Arena, which hosted the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers from 2003 to 2014. At least part, and possibly all, of next season will be played at the Orleans, while the finishing touches are put on the arena being built on the site of the Henderson Pavilion, the largest open-air amphitheater in Nevada, which is owned by the city and is home to the Henderson Symphony Orchestra.
The Pavilion will be torn down and replaced by the 6,000-seat Henderson Event Center, which will also be owned by the city, but will be operated by the VGK organization. The $84 million that the Event Center will cost will be split 50/50 between the city and the Golden Knights. It will host the Symphony, along with other concerts, local graduation ceremonies, community events, and the Silver Knights home games under a 20-year lease.
