I just saw a small article on a Las Vegas car dealer, Jim Marsh, and that he has a casino on Boulder. Sounds like an interesting chap. Got anything?
Jim Marsh, now 92 years young, is a long-time Las Vegas car dealer known for his Kia and Chrysler-Jeep dealerships, his TV commercials in which he's tormented by his daughter Stacy, and his deep ties to rural Nevada gaming.
He was born in Denver and moved to Las Vegas in the late '60s. Marsh became an auto dealer in 1971 with an AMC dealership at Fremont and Bruce streets. By 1976, he'd expanded to a larger location at Eastern and Sahara and picked up Chrysler, Jeep, Saab, Jaguar, and MG. In 2001, he moved operations to Centennial Hills.
As the question notes, he's also been in the gaming industry for around 50 years. His first venture was installing antique slot machines in his dealership back in the mid-1970s and he became the only known person to operate licensed slot machines inside a car dealership.
He owns and operates multiple rural Nevada gaming properties. These include the Longstreet Inn & Casino in Amargosa Valley, Tonopah Station and the Banc Club in Tonopah, and the Occidental (recently approved for 12 slots) and Santa Fe saloons in Goldfield.
Marsh also collects historical artifacts, furnishing his properties with antiques.
Finally, yes, he owns the Skyline Hotel & Casino on Boulder Highway in Henderson. He bought it in 2003 and since then has spent upwards of $10 million on renovations, expansions, and upgrades, including a 51-room hotel completed in late 2016.
