Question of the Day - 16 August 2024

Q:

Now that the Mirage and Tropicana have closed, can you update the list of Las Vegas' 20 largest hotels?

A:

We sure can. Thanks for asking.

Our list is slightually different from the one put out by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. They count the Venetian and Palazzo, Wynn and Encore, Mandalay Bay/Delano/Four Seasons, MGM Grand/Signature, etc. as separate properties. We don't. We see them as one, not two or three.

Here's our tally:

1. Venetian-Palazzo: 7,089

2. MGM Grand/Signature/Mansion: 6,871

3. Wynn/Encore: 4,751

4. Mandalay Bay/Delano/Four Seasons: 4,726

5. Luxor: 4,411

6. Caesars Palace/Nobu: 4,142

7. Aria: 4,044

8. Excalibur: 3,981

9. Bellagio: 3,933

10. Circus Circus: 3,773

11. Fontainebleau: 3,700

12. Paris (includes rebranded Versailles Tower): 3,672

13. Resorts World: 3,506

14. Flamingo: 3,460

15. Cosmopolitan: 3,027

16. Park MGM: 2,993

17. Westgate: 2,956

18. Treasure Island: 2,885

19. Harrah's: 2,542

20. Rio: 2,522

Is there an easy way to find their list of largest lv hotels? I can't seem to find it on their website. Or do you need to be a member to access that info?

It seems like some of the local casino hotels are fairly large. How do they compare? And which company has the most rooms?

    Huh?
Why count Venetian/Palazzo (and for that matter, Wynn/Encore) as one hotel? Yes, both pairs are under the same ownership, but so what? They are different hotels with completely different buildings. I love The Venetian but do not feel the same way about The Palazzo. I also prefer Wynn over Encore. They are not the same places.
