Question of the Day - 09 December 2024

Q:

If I buy my membership during June, but renew in the following January, will my membership still end during June of the following year?

A:

We get this question fairly frequently in December, as LVA members start thinking about Las Vegas trips in the new year.

The answer is, after much trial and error over the years, that if you buy your initial membership on, say, July 1, 2024, it expires on July 1, 2025.

We don't pro-rate memberships by whatever number of months remain in the year if you want to renew to receive your Member Rewards Book early.

Instead, if you renew on, say, January 2, 2025, you're entitled to the 2025 MRB, but your membership expires on July 1, 2026. Whether you renew early or not, your membership always expires on the day you first joined.

So you sent out the 2024 book when they joined, and their membership expires in June 2025, did you also send out the 2025 book in January 2025?
